About Photography by Lori
I have been shooting pictures since my Dad put a camera in my hands when I was in high school back in the 70's. I was instantly hooked! I learned how to shoot on an old manual Pentax film camera. My first "job" as a photographer was as the Ritzville High School Yearbook Photographer. It was so exciting capturing those special moments at my high school and having them published as part of the school's history. I was also the editor of Harvester which was the high school's paper. As editor, I learned journalistic skills and graphic design of a newspaper the old fashioned way before the days of computers!

Photography by Lori is all about you!!! Everyone is so very unique and I love finding that perfect picture of you. I do my best to keep everything low key and relaxing. I purchased studio equipment from Chuck and Karen Meye, who retired from the photography business and who have been my mentors over the past years. They always encouraged me to pursue this dream and helped give me direction on how to do that. They have shared their knowledge and experience with me to help me become the photographer that I am today. I am thrilled to announce that I now have a much larger studio thanks to my husband. My new studio provides adequate room for large groups or the individual. It will provide lots of flexibility for my customers. My goal as a photographer is to provide a professional service at a cost that will fit anyone's budget. There is very little overhead for my business. My business is in my home and I do all of the advertising design, order forms, informational packets, billing, web page design and processing. Those savings are passed onto my customers.

I was raised on a farm 8 miles from Ritzville. I learned how to work at a very young age cooking meals and driving wheat truck. Those lessons have been invaluable to my life. I also learned at a young age that I had a special bond with children. I have spent my entire adult life working with kids. I love working with people and my photography business is just another way to get to know people.
